The “Mixed” photographic project aims to document the reality of mixed couples in Italy, as a phenomenon closely linked to that of immigration. In times when immigration is represented as an issue emergency rather than as a natural social evolution, the project on the contrary, it wants to represent the experience of enrichment in the meeting between different cultures,leaving those directly involved the opportunity to tell their stories and to tell, through the image, their experience as a mixed couple. The intention of the entire project is to represent the couple in their intimacy and in their usual environments. The portrait sessions were accompanied from interviews, aimed at gathering the peculiarities of each couple. The project in its entirety includes captions and detail’s photos that accompany each portrait. That is the ultimate goal to question the very concept of "mixité", claiming the absolute uniqueness of every human being and of every union.
